(27 June 2016) The 16th edition of the International Festival dedicated to organ music, called “Le Giornate dell’organo” (Organ days) will be inaugurated on Thursday, June 30 in Belgrade. The event, organised by the Belgrade Cultural Centre with the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute, includes a series of concerts that, as in past editions, will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To kick off the Festival Italian organist Andrea Macinanti, who is devoted to research and promotion of works of Italian composers such as Ottorino Respighi, Goffredo Giardia, Marco Enrico Bossi, Oreste Ravanello and Lorenzo Perosi. Thanks to Maestro Macinanti and his collaborators, scores and recordings of almost all the organ works composed by them are now available. Macinanti will be performing for the first time in Belgrade with a programme of pieces composed at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries by Italian composers. An integral part of the Festival will be lessons and master classes given by the artists participating in the event.
