Rotterdam – Active aging policies and new alliances for families are the ‘new frontier’ of welfare in Veneto. Regional Minister of Social affairs Manuela Lanzarin spoke at the conference on social ‘innovation policies’ in Rotterdam promoted by the ENSA Network (the European network of regions and local self-government for social policies). The Veneto Region, founder and coordinator of ENSA policies favouring young people and families, presented some of the good practices undertaken in this area. Lanzarin anticipated upon meeting with the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb: “we are working to pass a regional legislation promoting cohousing and social commitment to the elderly, supporting the formation of associations, volunteer work, and the civil service of senior citizens”.
