In addition to formal meetings (Franceschini presented the “China friendly” program with its counterpart and discussed the possible forms of cooperation between the Italian regions and Chinese provinces, based on the experience gained during the Expo) Italian art – and its promotion – have been at the center of the minister’s visit. The works on display illustrate the artist’s creative path from the fundamental Florentine experience to the long and multifaceted French season. To accompany his masterpieces, a careful selection of famous works of the leading Italian artists that elected Paris as ideal home of modernity and figurative avant-garde, from Giuseppe de Nittis to Federico Zandomeneghi, from Paul Troubetzkoy to Vittorio Corcos. “With the opening of the retrospective exhibition of Boldini and his time – said Minister Franceschini – China World Art Museum presents itself as the ideal setting in which to place the constitutive core of the more than 40 works from the Ferrara Modern Art Gallery, offering a great opportunity to promote to the Chinese public that widespread heritage that makes Italy unique and worthy of being known and visited in depth “. The exhibition will allow the Chinese public to revisit the artist’s entire creative course: from the beginning in the Macchiaioli’s Florence and subsequent production to his landing in the impressionists Paris up to the portrait icons enshrining the affirmation of his signature style with which he imposed himself on the international scene.
