Beirut. Division Chief Luciano Portolano ceded the command of the UNIFIL mission of the United Nations in Lebanon to Irish General Michael Beary. In his farewell speech, Portolano expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the sensation of closeness and respect from Lebanese authorities and people. “Thank you for your support, admiration and appreciation that you have always shown towards the work of UNIFIL peacekeepers”.
