(August 9, 2016) A spin-off from the University of Bologna, mHealth Technologies (mHT), selected to participate in the 2016 edition of the Innovation Radar Prize: a competition which selects the 40 best innovations in ICT, financed by European research programmes. The sixteen projects with the highest votes have access to the finale which will take place in Bratislava on September 26. The University of Bologna website communicates: ‘the Bologna spin-off mHT was created following a European project called Farseeing dedicated to the development of technological applications to prevent falls and walking problems in elderly people. mHT has developed a series of applications for smartphones which monitor motor functions and posture to prevent loss of balance and falls. The device, which can be worn on one’s belt, controls the patient’s movements and notifies the person when it detects the risk of a potential loss of balance, signalling the patient to stop and sit for a moment’.
