Jerusalem. The Italian Government, through its Development Cooperation Office, gave a contribution of €6.6 million to UNRWA programme and services to the Palestinian refugee population, increasing the aid share intended for agency by 61% compared to 2015. This first tranche is part of the 10 million that Italy has already pledged in favour of UNRWA for 2016. The announcement of these contributions had already been given during the Italian Commissioner-general’s visit last May. (9Colonne)
