Rome – The real star of the comeback of Italian products abroad is the sparkling wine that showed an increase in sales of 21%, reaching the highest ever. This is what emerges from a Coldiretti analysis disclosed with the Istat data on foreign trade in August, based on the first seven months of the year. The positive performance of Italian exports – according to Coldiretti – relates in August also to food (+ 12%) with the most amazing results for sparkling wine. Abroad – according to Coldiretti – they have never been drinking so much Italian bubbles with Britain becoming in 2016 the first world market of Italian sparkling wine that with a record 42% of increase stands ahead of the United States, where however a + 23% is detected, while in more tight angle is Germany where there is a substantial stability of sales. In the ranking of the favorite Italian sparkling wines in the world there are mostly Prosecco followed by Asti and Franciacorta that now challenge the prestigious French champagne. (9Colonne)
