(October 20, 2016) On October 22 “Madrid embraces Center-Italy” at the headquarters of our Consulate in the Spanish capital (from 11 to 18), will take an initiative in the name of solidarity with the victims of the earthquake of last August 24 in central Italy. “The images of victims and damages made by the earthqauke – reads the website of the Embassy of Italy – have profoundly affected our Spanish friends and the many Italians resident in Spain, which joined with generosity and in large numbers to the initiatives of solidarity that spontaneously rised following the earthquake. ” The charity event, at the proposal of the Italian Embassy in Spain, is organized by the most representative associations of the Italian civil society in the Spanish capital (Chamber of Commerce and Italian Industry for Spain, Italian State School, Comites Madrid, Italian Charity Society) and is open to all who wish to provide their input and their contribution to the initiative. Throughout the day, the chefs of the restaurants participating in the initiative will prepare their own signature version of amatriciana pasta, a dish known around the world and originally from Amatrice, one of the towns most affected by the earthquake. The proceeds of the initiative will be donated to the Italian Red Cross, one of the major relief organizations currently engaged in the localities affected by the earthquake. (Red)
