Nottingham. The winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Sir J. Fraser Stoddart for his work on the synthesis of molecular machines, have filled many students all over the world including Palermo with pride. Professor Stoddart’s students had already planned to meet in Nottingham June 25-30, 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stoddart Group. The award will make the reunion even more special. Dr. Serena Riela, a research fellow at the STEBICEF Department had the honour to collaborate for one year (1999-2000) with Professor Stoddart at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Riela has conducted part of her PhD thesis in the labs directed by Professor Stoddart. (9colonne)
