Gaza – Italy has approved a budget of three million euro for emergency activities in Palestine to support and strengthen basic services to the most vulnerable categories of the population. The project, which will be built in continuity with what has been done by the Italian Cooperation in the emergency sector, will focus on Area C, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. In particular, actions are planned to ensure decent life conditions for displaced persons and refugees – including those at risk of being forcibly transferred – through the provision of emergency housing solutions, the implementation of measures to tackle the cold season and to improve access to drinking water, rehabilitation of roads, energy and water distribution systems for agricolture. The activities will be implemented by numerous organizations of Italian civil society in the affected areas, which have long met local needs, providing protection and assistance to the thousands of people in need .
