Tirana. Over the course of a solemn ceremony in the “Aleks Buda” Aula Magna of the Science Academy of Tirana, the title of “Akademik Nderi” (honorary academic) was conferred to professor Matteo Mandalà, a full professor in the Department of “Cutlure and Society”. The reason behind the award is as follows: “He is an esteemed scholar of Albania, historian and scholar of arbëreshe, ancient and contemporary literature, philologist and editor of important works pertaining to different period. He is an intellectual with a vast interest who has offered original contributions in various areas of Albanian studies and an illustrious representative of Albanian scientific thought in today’s academic and university community”.
