(22 December, 2016) The funds raised thanks to the “Praga per il Centro Italia” (Prague for Central Italy), launched by the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce, have been ceremoniously handed over to the Italian Ambassador to Prague, Aldo Amati at the Christmas Gala Dinner. The event was attended by 400 invited guests among members, government officials and Italian and Czech business associations. The fund-raising for the earthquake-struck Italian regions, was launched in early September by the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce: the 1.2million raised will be allocated to the Italian entity responsible for responding to natural disasters (Protezione Civile) for the reconstructing of earthquake stricken areas. The evening was conducting Italian chef Emanuele Ridi and Czech Television celebrity, Michaela Šmídová. The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Gianfranco Pinciroli commented “in coordination with the Ambassador we immediately set in motion a public fund-raising in the Czech Republic. The administrative procedure to obtain authorisation is very complex, but we found great sensibility and collaboration in all public offices. This has allowed us to expedite the process so that we were able to make a substantial donation.” (Red)
