Caracas – “The soldiers who patrol the entrance to the residence of the mayor of Caracas, Antonio Ledezma, have prevented the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate, Pier Ferdinando Casini, these days on a mission in Venezuela, to visit him. Ledezma, one of the main opposition leaders, has been under house arrest since February 2015 by the will of President Maduro on charges of plotting a coup, but was never prosecuted. Earlier, the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate met with the Italian-Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship group chaired by Luis Stefanelli and, right after that, he had a long meeting with the president of the National Assembly, Ramos Allup.
