(30 January 2017) The DCE (Economics and Communications Department) with the Unimore (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) Media Library propose an programme organised in collaboration with the “Amici di passato e presente” association. The initiative is scheduled for 31 January will be held at the Media Library at the ‘Biblioteca Universitaria Interdipartimentale’ (viale Allegri 9) of Reggio Emilia at 17:00. This event is an opportunity for the public to watch the Italian-German documentary “Nella Sabbia del Brandeburgo” by Katalin Ambrus, Nina Majr, and Matthias Neumann, followed by a discussion. Professor Andrea Rapini from the Unimore and the organiser of this event explains; “the documentary tells the story of a tragedy that took place at the end of the Second World War in which 100 Italian workers (IMI) in Treuenbrietzen were involved. Long forgotten, this tragic event has been brought to light once again in this interactive cross-media documentary divided into 24 episodes. There are biographical episodes that document events from today’s point of view. The other 6 episodes shed light on historical facts. The documentary film also includes animated images created by the Italian illustrator, Cosimo Morelli. The soundtrack was composed by Stefano Fornasero and Andrea Blasetig”. (red)
