Dubai. The “Leaning Tower of Pisa in Japan and United Arab Emirates” project developed by Toscana Promozione Turisitca, the Chamber of Commerce of Pisa, the City of Pisa and the City of Volterra, is now featured in Dubai. The inauguration ceremony took place on March 20th at 19:30 (16:30 Italian time). The alabaster copy of the original leaning tower was built by alabaster workers from the Associazione Arte in Bottega di Volterra. The Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra Foundation, the Province of Pisa, Cassa di Risparmio of Volterra, the City of Volterra, and the Opera Primaziale Pisana (the owner of the piece) contributed to the realisation of the sculpture. The copy of the famous campanile of the Duomo of Pisa will be on display until April 27 at the Meydan Hotel of Dubai, with a panoramic view of the Meydan Racecourse. (9colonne)
