Keflavik. “Italy is ready to carry out its duty in the name of international security” said General Graziano, Defense Chief of Staff as he welcomed the contingent of Task Force Air “Northern Ice” of the Italian Air Force, before the end of the visit to the air base at Keflavik, Iceland. General Graziano praised the excellent achievements, which have contributed to, once again, a full demonstration of the high level of professionalism and competence of the Italian military in the international arena and NATO. “The mission to defend Iceland’s airspace is very important because today defense and security meet in a geographic ‘360 degrees’ according to General Graziano. Although Italy is already committed on the south side of the Euro-Atlantic space, calling the attention of all Allies to the possible threats; it is ready to assume responsibilities under the Atlantic Alliance and in solidarity between Member States, wherever they are needed. And your presence here in Iceland, is solid proof”. (9Colonne)
