(April 18, 2017) His name is Luca Melilli, he is from Sicily, he is 39 years old and a London agency asked him to prepare the gala dinners for Donald and Melania Trump during the next G7 meeting in Taormina on May 26 and 27. Melilli oversaw events such as, for example, the one organized by Microsoft founder Bill Gates in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, or as a dinner gala of the Taormina Film Festival for international movie star. But the call for the gala dinners of Trump in Sicily was completely unexpected. “When I got the email confirmation – says Melilli – I re-read it several times, because it almost did not seem real”. Gala dinners and their details are, as it should be, strictly top secret. “It is too early to define the details – said the Sicilian wedding designer – but we already have some guidelines to follow and ideas to build on. The evenings will be two. In the first we think of a Sicilian theme, that will make guests feel the warmth of our land. We can choose a layout with references to folklore, Mediterranean colors, flowers and scents of Sicily, or something more classic, simple and elegant, evoking suggestions from “The Leopard”. The second evening will be absolutely gala. We will use the freshest flowers. ” Everything will help define a positive and solar image of the island, beyond old stereotypes and prejudices, to promote the beauty of a land of extraordinary natural, artistic and cultural heritage.
