A conference will be held on May 31 at 6.30 pm in the theatre of the Italian Institute of Culture of Beijing, organised by the IIC with China Social Science Press. How did people live in Pompeii before the 79 A.D. eruption of Mount Vesuvius ? And how did people react they fury of the volcano? Retracing the steps of its inhabitants, Angela accompanies readers on the streets of the city in the hours before the tragedy.
