(June 1, 2017) The Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney proposes for the second appointment of the film review “Beyond classics. New Italian Cinema “, hosted at Casula Powerhouse Arts Center, the dramatic comedy “It Was the Son “by Daniele Ciprì, taken from the homonymous novel by Sicilian writer Roberto Alajmo. The appointment is Thursday, June 8, starting at 7.30 pm. The festival has been opened by “La vera leggenda di Tony Vilar”, a “mokumentary” in which elements of reality generate invented moments, directed by Giuseppe Gagliardi. Thanks to a careful choice of contemporary Italian features, “Beyond classics. New Italian Cinema “will allow viewers to “watch” an Italy featured on the big screen through the ironic, sensitive and historical look of some of the greatest contemporary directors such as Mario Martone, Daniele Ciprì, Giuseppe Gagliardi, Gianni Amelio And Carlo Mazzacurati.
