Oxford. DNA sequencing had revolutionised the study of the foundations of living systems, in the field of biomedicine. Technological advances in this sector open new perspectives in medical genomic research. A recent publication on the journal “Briefing in Bioinformatics” offers an overview of the different computational approaches for the analysis of data produced by the new nanopore sequencers. The research stems from a team of the University of Florence: Alberto Magi and Betti Giusti, from the Department of Experimental and Clinical, young researchers Alessandra Mingrino and Roberto Semeraro, and Romina D’Aurizio from the Pisa CNR.
