Amman – The Representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bambin Gesù Pediatric Hospital of the Vatican. The initiative, supported by the Apostolic Nunciature in Jordan, is aimed at conducting surgical interventions on children suffering from serious illnesses that come from vulnerable, refugee and Jordanian families. The signing of the agreement marks the beginning of a collaboration that in 2017 will provide life-saving interventions to more than 300 children. The agreement will also allow professional exchanges and will be a mutual learning opportunity for doctors participating in the initiative. (9colonne)
