Ouagadogou – The Ravello Festival devotes the launch of the proceed of tomorrow concert by Lahav Shani, a young Israeli talent on the podium of the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, to the mission in Burkina Faso of Angri’s Progetto Famiglia Cooperazione Onlus founded by Don Silvio Longobardi. The proceeds will contribute to implementing the project that so far has seen the construction of 35 wells, 3 schools, a clinic and a home for students. Since 2013, the year in which he won the first prize at the International Competition Gustav Mahler in Bamberg, Shani quickly became one of the most interesting young talents, gathering a huge attention for his maturity and instinctive musicality. What he proposes in Ravello is a sparkling program that will open with Cuban Overture and Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin and then switch to Kurt Weill’s Symphony No. 2 and close with Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
