London. Leonardo announced the signing of a contract with the Danish operator Uni-Fly A / S for two light intermediate AgustaWestland AW169 helicopters. Deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. The helicopters will carry out tasks to support DONG Energy’s operations for Hornsea Project One’s Wind Energy in the North Sea, 120 miles from Humberside, UK. This is the first Danish order for the new AW169, which also enters the helicopter support operations market of the United Kingdom wind power industry after its success already achieved with other European buyers and engagement in the North Sea. These AW169 will be equipped with a special custom configuration including a dedicated offshore interiors and rescue hoist to support maintenance personnel attending wind turbines. (9Colonne)
