Khartoum. On the occasion of the break of the twenty-year unilateral sanctions imposed on Sudan by the United States on October 12th, the Italian Ambassador to Khartoum, Fabrizio Lobasso, was interviewed by the SUNA Agency on the future political-economic scenarios for Italian-Sudanese relations: “Italy has been attracting attention to the various international forums on Sudan’s strategic role for a long time, that of being a crucial advocate of the Horn of Africa in maintaining stability and pacification in the region. The end of the sanctions is an important step for Khartoum which is on the road to democratic consolidation and its reintegration into international financial dynamics”. (9Colonne)
