Cape Town. From November 29th to December 3rd, the 17th edition of Italian Film Focus (IFF) will take place in Cape Town. The festival was born from a long collaboration between the Italian Consulate in Cape Town, the Italian Institute of Culture of Pretoria, the Backstage Association and the Labia Theatre, and with the support of the MIBACT. Its aim is to offer cinephiles and industry professionals not only a selection of recent Italian productions presented at major European festivals, but also and above all, an in-depth view of Italian contemporary society. There are eight films in the programme, ranging from different genres and registers, including animation and musicals for the new generation of Italian directors. The screenings will take place at the Labia Theatre in Cape Town (68, Orange Street, Gardens). This year will once again see the participation of actors, directors, and filmmakers who will participate in workshops and meetings with students studying the seventh art and local counterparts.
