(4 aprile 2018)The Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona organised a retrospective on the vast filmography of Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. The tribute to the Taviani brothers, in cinema for 50 years and winners of prestigious international awards, will start tomorrow and end on May 16th. The retrospective “Fratelli Taviani, l’utopia come motore” will present the complete filmography of the two filmmakers and screenwriters, except for one film which is not available. Paolo Taviani will be present at the inauguration tomorrow where he will meet with the public for the screening of the film “Una questione privata”. The film based on the novel of the same name by Beppe Fenoglio was released in September. The event in Barcelona represents a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate some of the most awarded feature films of Italian cinema: from “Padre padrone” to “la Notte di San Lorenzo”. A socially engaged cinema always rendered in a very delicate and elegant way. (red)
