St. Petersburg. The theatre show, organised by the Italian Institute of Culture, “From the Big Bang to Civilization” will be held on April 15th at 20:00 at the Aleksandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. The event is organized by the Italian Institute of culture of the city. An astrophysicist and a writer weave a two-part story that begins from the origin of the universe to the present day, using six images: six icons that represent as many turning points in the physical evolution of the cosmos and in the cultural evolution of the human species. From the Big Bang to cave paintings, from the birth and death of stars, to the rise of rational and scientific thought, from the arrival of the first organic molecules on Earth to technological progress: a narrative rich in scientific, intellectual, and artistic knowledge, to show that the Homo Sapiens species is linked to the universe and its history more than we know; but at the same time is able – thanks to reason, culture and technique – to guide its own path of evolution and happiness. The theatre piece will be in Italian with simultaneous translation into Russian. (9Colonne)
