Lima. On the occasion of the 14th edition of the Contemporary Art Day, the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima will inaugurate the exhibition “Sólo quienes sueñan pueden mover montañas” on October 11th, featuring the artists Anto Milotta, Zlatolin Donchev, and Arianna Spanò, curated by Massimo Scaringella. The exhibition is installed at the M. Sironi IIC gallery. The artists present an exhibition project that is the last stage of a journey that started more than a year ago. They propose a journey that is both physical and spiritual, transforming space into a place for listening, receiving and transmitting, according to the IIC of Lima. The project consists of a series of unpublished works, produced during the period of residence at the cultural centre Joisy V. Bartra di Chazuta, and the Italian Institute of Culture of Lima. The title of the exhibition, inspired by the film Fitzcarraldo by Werner Herzog, emphasises the oneiric dimension linked to indigenous cosmology and redefines its relevance to current contexts, where mountains symbolise the machine of power and the dream represents the will of a people to oppose its progress. The exhibition will remain open to the public until November 10th. (9Colonne)
