Teheran – Pier Paolo Patti is a videomaker and visual artist, winner of the “Artist in Residence” competition – a programme organised by the EUNIC-Iran cluster and by the Italian Embassy in Teheran in collaboration with the Garuzzo Institute for Visual Arts (IGAV) and Kooshk Residency. He has recently had the opportunity to spend a month in Teheran to give life to “Roots”: a project that is a bridge for the exchange between the different Western and Middle Eastern cultures. His residency in Iran was therefore a step further for Patti’s vocation for the geo-political and social interconnections of the human being. “Roots” is a choral work that tries to tell the peaceful coexistence between the different religions and the many cultures in a different light. Through the creation of “single copy books” it is intended to build a library composed of fragments of different origins as materials used by associations, institutions, NGOs and institutions working in the field of cooperation.
