Tokyo – The performance of guitarists Marco Musso and Davide Giovanni Tomasi, entitled “La Chitarra in Italia: from Classicism to the Twentieth Century” will be held on Friday, April 5th at 18:30 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo. This programme is a tribute to the history of classical guitar in Italy. Starting from the music of Mauro Giuliani, virtuoso in the early nineteenth-century Vienna and classical composer, to the carefree romanticism of Giulio Regondi – child prodigy who played alongside Franz Liszt; we reach one of the most significant works of the twentieth century guitar repertoire, Les guitares bien tempérées op. 199 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco: 24 preludes and fugues explicitly inspired by the Ben Tempato harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach.
