ITALIAN FOOTWEAR EXPORT SUCCESS
In the first nine months of 2011 footwar exports increased by 6.2% in volume and 14% in value, and the trade balance grew of 18.1%. These are some of the data emerging from the Shoe Report 2012, presented in Montecitorio by ANCI, National Association of Italian Shoes Manufacturers. The fourth edition of the report shows the annual trend of the footwear industry during the current economic crisis. This growth has also given new job opportunities, with an employment increase of 1% in 2011. Alongside these positive data, it should be noted the negative situation in the Italian market: the household consumption, in the first nine months of 2011, declines by 2% in volume and grow up just by a 0.5% in value. The companies and the industry grow, but only if they find new markets and new consumers.
