(Mar 5) – Culinary specialities from the regions of Calabria and Veneto are protagonist in Montreal. In March and April, restaurants and shops of Little Italy and the Jean-Talon market will give wide space to the culinary traditions of the two Italian regions in their shop. From March 19th to 25th guests can sample and buy gourmet products and culinary specialities from Calabria. From April 23rd to 29th, it will be the turn of the regional cuisine of Veneto. The aim of the event is to highlight the historical role of restaurateurs and merchants of Little Italy and the Jean-Talon market, ambassadors of the various Italian regional cuisines in Quebec for over a century. There is also a second target: to foster ties and contacts between Italian and Canadian merchants, restaurateurs and producers. The exhibition is organized by the Società di sviluppo commerciale (Sdc), Little Italy – Jean-Talon Market, in collaboration with the Montréal Public Markets Management, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada, and the foundation Magnani Montaruli and Ciao Italia – Association of Italian restaurants in the world.
