(Mar. 13) – Aerospace companies from the region of Puglia will participate the Aerospace & Defence Supplier Summit in Seattle presenting their excellence: electronic and mechanical components, composites, technical textiles, surface treatment, telecommunications, laser technology, supplies and maintenance: the best aerospace Puglia, in the middle of the ascending curve. The region will be present with the Distretto Aerospaziale Pugliese (Aerospace District of Puglia) and eight companies that have chosen to exploit the significant opportunities of the event. This year the event is even more interesting because is organized for the first time in the U.S.: the event was strongly supported by Boeing, the largest American aircraft manufacturer which has its main production plant near Seattle. “In recent years, the Region of Puglia has chosen to accompany the aerospace companies to the most important events – Loredana Capone said, Vice-President of the region – tenaciously promoting the sector thanks to the collaboration of the Distretto Aerospaziale Pugliese. Today we gather the fruits of this work: our exports in the first nine months of 2011 grew by 30.6% over the same period last year. Then, if we look at the details of exports between Puglia and North America, we record a growth of 33.5%, compared with a decrease by 13.4% in Italy.” For the president of the Distretto Aerospaziale Pugliese Giuseppe Acierno “the participation at the event in Seattle, Boeing’s home, is certainly an ambitious and challenging mission to reach new markets.” (Gil/Peg)
