(May 2) Studying is comparison, debate and continue “exploration”. Today, those who do research are always motivated to make an international experience, which is now fundamental. And so did some young Florentine students who have completed of Neuroscience training in the United States and today will show their Italian colleagues the skills acquired. They are six students of the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence and they spent ten days at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, as an exchange program. The meeting will be also attended by Gian Franco Gensini, Dean of the School of Medicine, University of Florence, and Stefano Pallanti, coordinator of the collaboration with Stanford University, along with teachers and researchers who have trained the Italian students for two weeks, and followed them later at the U.S. university. Students in the fifth and sixth year of graduation – four boys and two girls – have responded to a call earlier this year. “There were 35 candidates who applied for the exchange,” said Pallanti. “The six who left had the opportunity to make an international experience that will help them face the competition to enter the research’s world. In the two weeks training in Florence, as long as during the American stay,” Pallanti continues “the students were able to deepen the most innovative neurophysiological and psychometrics methods, neuro-modulation therapies, laboratory and neuro-imaging techniques”.
