(Aug. 2) – Recognizing the Mediterranean diet as an intangible heritage of humanity, UNESCO two years ago wanted to give our food model a social and cultural status. The Mediterranean diet is, in fact, a lifestyle based on sustainable agricultural, food traditions and cultural values that come from the work of generations of farmers. And these days the Mediterranean diet is protagonist in London during the Olympic Games, thanks to the Department of Agriculture of the Regione Campania, the Chambers of Commerce of Benevento and Salerno, and the CONI Campania. Today, in the meeting room of the CONI Campania, it is scheduled a presentation of the activities to promote and enhance the region of Campania, that will take place at “Casa Italia”, in London, from August 5th to 7th. The long list of participants includes Vito Amendolara, Councillor for Agriculture, Cosimo Sibilia, Regional President of the CONI, Gennaro Masiello, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Benevento; Arzano Guido, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno. Casa Italia is housed in the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, a 6,000 sqm six-floors structure in the heart of London,in front of the Westminster Abbey. Casa Italia will host companies that represent the Italian excellence, athletes and journalists, giving the chance to live a full experience of Italy through exhibitions, wine tasting and cultural events. Three out of six floors of the structure are also open to the public from 12 to 20. (Gil/Peg)
