(Sept. 27) – “Caesar Must Die” by the Taviani brothers will be the Italian film that will represent Italy in the race for a nomination at the 2013 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. The films competing with ours were excellent films from very good directors. The game has just started. ” So Paolo and Vittorio Taviani commented on the news about the nomination. The last Oscar for an Italian film as Best Foreign Film dates back to 1999 with the “Life is Beautiful” by Roberto Benigni, and since then only Italian movie nominated has been “The Beast in the Heart” by Cristina Comencini , in 2006. “Caesar Must Die” recently won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and is produced by Kaos Films with Rai Cinema and distribute by Nanni Moretti’s Sacher Film.
