Oct. 17 – An important and unique agreement to recognize wine as a cultural element, to be analyzed, understood and promoted thanks to its uncountable historical references in art. Said agreement will be signed in the coming days in Saint Petersburg between the Villa Russiz Foundation, an excellent wine producing firm from Gorizia, and the Hermitage State Museum. The contract was made possible thanks to the Regional Assessor to Culture. Mikhail Piotrovsky, general director of the Museum, and Silvano Stefanutti, president of the Italian Foundation, will sign the agreement in the presence of Elio de Anna, regional assessor. The aim is to develop a series of research project, events, publications, and exhibitions based on a scientific and cultural collaboration between the two institutions. The wine produced by Villa Russiz will be the vin d’honneur of the Hermitage for particular events. The accompanying foods, typical of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, will also be given an eye of regard. The aim is to promote the products of the region, introducing them to a Russian audience. The musical association “Sergio Gaggia” will also propose compositions by the pianist Ella Adaiewsky, born in 1846 in Saint Petersburg and frequent visitor in Friuli.
