Oct. 24 – The University of Texas – Galveston Medical Branch (UTMB) and the University of Palermo finalized a partnership for the creation of a PhD program in biomedicine and neurosciences. This agreement, a follow-up of 2011 MoU, is the result of the cooperation among Houston’s Comites, the CSNA (Sicilian Confederation in North America), and ERSU (the Regional Organization of the Right to University Studies). Luca Cicalese, professor at UTMB, underlines how the PhD program came to life thanks to the coordination of numerous academics and their respective departments. Students from both institutions will be able to follow the international program – with courses being taught in both universities by a mixed faculty. Once completed, the young researched will receive a PhD from both institutes – recognized both in the United States and in the European Union.
