Oct. 29 – Mondo TV announced earlier this week the end of negotiations for a license agreement with MediaCorp Pre Ltd – a Singaporean leading company in the media sector that offers a complete platform, from TV, radio, newspapers and digital media magazines. MediaCorp bought the rights for Pay TV and VOD for 345 episodes of 30 minutes each and 41 films for television that are part of the classic library and new library offered by Mondo TV. This is the biggest deal for Mondo TV in Singapore, and it symbolizes an important expansion phase of the company towards new geographical areas and markets in the Far East.
MediaCorp, according to inside information, is the pioneering company in the development of radio and television in Singapore, having initiated radio activities in 1936, and television activities in 1964.
Today, MediaCorp offers more than 50 media and brand platforms in 4 languages (English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil); their aim is to become the most important Asian operator in the media sector. MediaCorp also announced last September that their operational margin increased by 7.5% (approximately $44.4 million) in the financial year that concluded on March 31, 2012.
