Dec. 11 – Conergy Italy officially enters the Romanian market by taking part in a major project to install a ground photovoltaic system, the third largest in Romania. The park covers an area of 2,450 hectares. The design and installation phase were carried out by EPC Contractor Solanna Investment Ltd. and Janna Ltd, with the collaboration and support of Conergy Italy, who took charge of the delivery of the modules. The installation, which began in October 2012, was completed for the first of the three camps, while the other two will be completed by December 31 2012, day in which the plant will be connected to the network. The plant is located in the province OLT, National Drum DN Slatina, and is part of a development of photovoltaic industry project in Romania. It contributes to the achievement of sustainable energy 2020goals established by the EU. In fact, the OLT system is the first Romanian PV array to be fully funded by the European Union. Divided into three solar fields of 750 kW each, it will be able to produce 1,150 kWh per year, equivalent to the energy needs of almost 740,000 households, and avoid the emission of 1 billion tons of CO2.
