Dec. 27 – Roberto Fabbri is one of the few, if not only, Italian classical guitarist who is able to make others understand, appreciate and use his guitar method at a global level, particularly in Spain. Recently, Fabbri signed a contract with the label Sony Classical (distributed by Sony Music), licensed by Bulletin Edizioni Musicali, thus becoming part of the exclusive group of classical guitarists within Sony, alongside Julian Bream, John Williams, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and Sharon Isbin. The artist’s latest album is entitled “In your eyes” and it was anticipated on the radio with the single “Rainbow Song.” The album by the Roman guitarist and composer is a collection of 17 original compositions, in each of which Fabbri tells a story, expresses a feeling, describes a place or an event with the aim of bringing classical guitar to the general public and in the important concert venues. The album also includes “Fantasia sin palabras”, the concerto for guitar and strings of six compositions that was commissioned to Fabbri by the XXVI Festival Internacional Andres Segovia in Madrid, where he performed on the 26th of October on occasion of the 25th anniversary of the death of the greatest classical guitarist of all time. “After the first two albums “Beyond” and “No Words”, in which I relied almost exclusively on my guitar – says Roberto Fabbri – I wanted to alternate the solo tracks to larger compositions, with pieces for more guitars or even arch quartets. I wanted an album in which I could dialogue with other musicians and create a heterogeneous and involving sound.”
