Jan. 29 – Sophistication and style: the total Italian look is on display in Japan. Building on the proven success of previous events, today the 42nd edition of “Fashion Italy” was inaugurated alongside the 52nd edition of “Shoes from Italy”. The autonomous exhibitions of this show a record number of 178 participating companies that will showcase their collections for autumn / winter 2013-14. New clothing lines for woman / man / child and leather clothing will be presented, as well as footwear, leather goods, belts and hats, essential ingredients for a total Italian look of success and elegance. The exhibition will occupy six floors of the Westin Hotel in Tokyo until January31. For the exhibition “Fashion Italy”, there are 92 companies participating in the clothing section and 35 firms for the leather sector. “Shoes from Italy”, that since the 2009 edition is organized together with “Italian Fashion”, will showcase shoes pre-collections, as a unique preview before Micam, to be held in Milan March 3 – 6. There are 51 participating companies, which is the highest recorded participation number for the Tokyo events as of today. To confirm the importance of regional trade with the Asian and Oceanic regions, buyers from South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia were invited to attend, accompanied by the respective Trade Analysts of the local Ice Agency.
