Feb. 14 – Companies operating in the renewable energy sector are increasingly looking to Romania. Recently, the Bucharest government has introduced a system of incentives for the production of electricity from renewable sources and it is now expected that interest will increase in roof systems, and solar and wind power parks. Romania thus becomes a an attractive economic reality for Italian companies, as Italy is the second largest trading partner and second largest supplier after Germany with 11, 4% of the market. Hence, the Chamber of Commerce of Varese organized a trade mission to the country, obviously within the “Doing Business: Objective Balkans and Turkey” project of the Intra-Chamber between Italian Chambers, Unioncamere and the Ministry of Economic Development. On top of the important partnership building activities conducted by the aforementioned Chambers, there are particular business opportunities arising from the development policies put forth by the European Commission with regard to these countries. The Varese mission will take place March 5 – 7 at the International Fair of Renewable Energy and Energy Distribution, hosted by the city of Arad. The event, now in its fifth year, brings together experts and key people from the Balkans and develops the common interest that Romania, Hungary and Serbia share for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
