Apr. 22 – The “Rodina” cinema in St. Petersburg wrapped up the 16th edition of NICE Russia 2013 organized by New Italian Cinema Events, directed by Viviana del Bianco and Grace Santini and, as the executive director of Russia, Olga Strada. Together, they brought the best of Italian emerging cinema in Moscow (April 10 to 16) and St. Petersburg (12-18 April). After the personal success of Valeria Golino and Jasmine Trinca, who greatly impressed the Russian press on opening night, nine days of screenings saw the halls filled up of an audience sensitive to the Italian charm and extremely attentive to NICE’s proposes. The exhibition was confirmed once again among the major film events in Russia. ” N.I.C.E. not only helps the Italian emerging cinema, but also give the Russian public a glimpse of what happens in the world beyond their border” said Naum Klejman, director of the State Museum of Cinema in Moscow and supporter of the event. “The objective is to spread abroad the best Italian emerging cinema and support initiatives to promote Italian culture, such as the “Tuscan Hall,” created with an almost to scale reproduction of one of the most beautiful Italian squares, Pienza, who welcomed the audience throughout the festival, organized in collaboration with the Region of Tuscany,” said Viviana del Bianco. “Then, when we can bring together business and culture, we have the distinct feeling of having hit target. Hence, we choose partners (the Cool Connections in Russia or the IFC and the SFFS in the United States) that share these two goals.”
