May 14 – Sculptress Maria Cristina Carlini will participate in Link – ArtFair – to be held Hong Kong May 23 – 26, thanks to the representation service offered by Arte Ipse Dixit London. The international exhibition of contemporary art takes place in parallel to the first edition of Art Basel – Hong Kong and is home to numerous galleries from all over the world, engaging a diverse audience by age and culture. The works on display include Craters, in different shades of porcelain – black, white and ocher – painted with colored enamels, and Waves, stoneware tiles inserted in iron, showing the contrast between the softness of the materials molded in the hard linearity of iron. Two of her sculptures, entitled Ballerina, on perforated steel and resin, highlight the movement and balance given by the artist in her creations. For Carlini, clay was the starting point to explore other materials, such as porcelain, resin, steel, iron and wood, with which she works mainly for the realization of large-scale sculptures. Over the course of her career, Maria Cristina Carlini has produced sculptures of small and medium-sized, but also monumental ones. She has shown a great ability to develop new aesthetic experiences, working from time to time with new materials and responding to the various needs arising from her ideas. She has displayed her work in three continents: Europe, Asia and America. Now, thanks to the ArtFair in Hong Kong, some of her works will find a permanent home in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, and Tianjin Rongcheng – Shandong.
