May 16 – “The Delancey,” one of the most exclusive clubs in Manhattan is hosting Senit. In fact, the eclectic artist from Bologna of Eritrean origin will perform tonight. After her success at Eurovision 2011, she is now performing in NY to let America know of her talent, expressed in the album “So High.” With several ups and downs in her career, Senit has a multicultural background that has led her, since the beginning, to confront and perform beyond Italian borders. In past years, she performed in hit musicals like “Fame” and “Hair”, in Swiss and English editions. She also went on stage with the German company of “The Lion King.” She later came back to Italy to participate in the musical “Rent” (produced by Pavarotti International) and to work alongside Massimo Ranieri in the show “The Champ”. She soon gained the attention of important Italian musicians, like Zucchero, who, moved by the energy of her voice and her soulful R & B sound, chose her as opening act for his “Fly Tour 2007”. Thanks to these characteristics, Senit was also one of the protagonists of the “O’Scià” event organized by Claudio Baglioni in Lampedusa in 2008. In 2009, she joined the cast of “Amiche for Abruzzo,” held at San Siro.
