(Jun. 11) – A delegation of Italy’s Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (LND) will be in Guatemala City until June 17th to promote ‘Escuelas Metropolitanas de Fútbol’ (Emefut) of the Municipality of Guatemala City, a project aiming to reduce youth violence through football, intended as a vehicle for development and social inclusion. The initiative, called ‘Mision Campeones, is promoted by the project ‘Munijoven’, funded by the Italian Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce Italy-Guatemala (Camcig) and the Consulting Studio CS33, with the sponsorship of Pepsi and Banco Bantrab. The delegation of the LND, composed by representatives from different areas of expertise (technical education, sports medicine, refereeing, sports justice and logistics), will share their experience and methodology with students and coaches beneficiaries of the initiative, supported and coordinated by the Municipality of Guatemala City and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
