July 16 – “Food exports: Hong Kong hub for China” is the title of a workshop recently held at the Chamber of Commerce of Lecce. On the occasion, the upcoming trade mission to Hong Kong was presented. Organized by the Eastern-Italian Chamber of Commerce during the exhibition “Food Expo 2013,” the event is scheduled for August 15-17. The main goal for Puglia businesses is to enhance and promote the organoleptic and healthy qualities of extra virgin olive oil and the Mediterranean diet. The Chamber will assist the olive sector representatives at the fair in Hong Kong and will seek to support them in b2b meetings, where they will present their products to operators. Beyond olive oil, typical Salento products and wine will also be on stage. Hong Kong is one of the largest potential markets, as it is a port for entry into China.
