July 31 – Piedmont wines continue their Switzerland tour, after a stop in Zurich in June. The “The wines of Piedmont” consortium will arrive in Geneva on September 30 with the “Barolo & Friends” tasting at the “Fumisterie chez Ernest,” organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland. This is the second event organized in the Swiss city after the initial 2012 success, and for the occasion, a dozen wine and agribusiness producers will present to the Geneva public a dozen regional culinary products of excellence. A first part of the event will be reserved for industry professionals such as importers, retailers, distributors, restaurateurs, wine and food journalists… and will be divided into b2b meetings with Piedmont winemakers and food. After this, from 6pm the event opens its doors to the general public: all wine lovers, connoisseurs of Piedmont’s land and flavors will be welcomed into a real “Piazza Piemonte,” where they can taste typical Piedmont dishes cooked by the restaurant chefs. All participants will receive a complimentary glass of the official event, “Barolo & Friends,” and will have the opportunity to participate in a competition to win a weekend for two in Piedmont. Two tasting laboratories, called “Wine & Food Moments,” are also scheduled to present the possible gastronomic delights and wine combinations.
