Aug. 8 – Alessandra Angelini’s artlands in the city of Gaudi as the artist participates in Barcelona’s “Awesome Expo. International Art Exhibition,” curated by Maria Grazia Todaro, and organized by Queen Art Studio at the prestigious Crisolart Fine Art Gallery, in the central area of the city, September 8-18. Angelini exhibited on this occasion “Ignis,” a work on canvas (100×200 cm) realized in 2005, part of a series of works dedicated to energy and the element of “fire.” Although attracted by constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials, Alessandra Angelini underlines the importance of painting, treated as a “musical encounter between thought and color, that, by interacting with the canvas, give birth to a new entity, with a life of its own. This is the miracle of the painting, beyond the form, idea or subject it represents.” In particular, the tempering process, by its nature opaque, allows to express the brush’s pure gesture directly from the mind, without resorting to mediations that would compromise the execution. With works such as “Ignis” and the continuous and thorough artistic research, over time, works apparently distant from each other share the same concept of “color.” The artist previously exhibited in Spain in 2006 and in Madrid in 2011 at the International Exhibition of Printing Art and Contemporary Art, and in 2008 at the 5th International Biennial of Graphic Art at the Museum Favellò Firal in San Carlos de la Rapita. In the same year, the town of San Carlos de la Rapita bought two significant graphic works of her artistic career.
